THURSDAY THOUGHTS - ENJOY THE RIDE

Age is a thing that no matter where we try and hide, however far we travel, or fast we run, we will never manage to loose. you tear round the next bend, with the road just disappearing out of view, you look over your shoulder for that fleeting last glance, and just as you think its clear, you glimpse it, steadily, creeping, stagnantly behind you, never gaining ground and never losing it. Just marching on. We as demographic of young adults struggle with this concept of age and losing our virile lust for life , and this plight is widely documented.

The ever increasing comparisons between the generation gap, youth against maturity, chaos versus calculated consideration, fuel an imaginary while at the same time very real fire burning within each of us. These useless ponderings and pontifications echo unabated throughout our everyday lives, the questions of "when is it time to slow down, to call it a day, to hang up those imaginary boots and settle in to those soft warm slippers neatly placed by the radiator just in time so they are perfectly heated for a night of antiques roadshow and songs of praise?"

Yes i know. This useless diatribe is prime example of such muttering gibberish. So please, stop reading, shut down Facefuck, go outside, and keep your arms and legs inside the car for a faster ride. Because all too soon the lights will dim, the ride will slow to a clattering halt and you too will get the inevitable tap on the shoulder, as time creeps up behind you, slippers in hand and whispers, "come on now lad. you've had your go."

As true as it is, age catching up with you, if I ever get to the point where the highlight of my weekend is Antiques and Hyms, thats when I know that maybe my time on Earth is complete.
